HandyPhone version 1.9 has been released

HandyPhone 1.9 introduces improvements in the Volume Locker and debug logging.

The Volume Locker function protects against an accidental ringer volume changes by pressing a side keys. Since version 1.9 the application has an option to lock ringer mode. Ringer mode (also known as ringer profile) can be changed by a side volume keys too. So it make sense to protect ringer mode  as well as ringer volume.

When Debug Mode is switched on the application writes to the log file basic information about device (model, vendor, Android version) and the current application settings. All changes to the application settings are logged. This make debug log more informative and will help to solve problems easier.

HandyPhone version 1.7 has been released

This release features a number of fixes. Major fixes concern a Samsung devices. A HandyPhone's Ascending ring function did not work properly in Samsung phones due to their two-step ringer. The phone starts ringing at low level for a few seconds and then suddenly increases to a normal ringing level. In this version HandyPhone can handle such a behaviour of Samsung phones. Though it requires to enable a Forced mode option.

To help to discover causes of the problems in the HandyPhone this release introduces ability to send debug log by email right from your device. You can read about a debug log more detail in HandyPhone Features section.

In this release a french translation is added, thanks to Jean-Charles Cueff.

HandyPhone version 1.6 has been released

Since version 1.6 HandyPhone has a full support of LED notifications. Now you can setup reminder notifications with LED blinking. You can specify LED color and blinking pattern separately for each kind of notification. Unfortunately not all devices supports LED color and blinking pattern control. Moreover many devices do not have a LED indicator at all.

New option of the Ascending Ring function is added. It instructs the application to increase ringing volume starting from the current system volume level.

The bug was fixed: now audible and vibro notifications do not fire during a phone call.

Due to volunteers contribution the application has a new icons now. Thanks to azzimov from 4PDA forum.

HandyPhone version 1.5 has been released

This release is dedicated to two workaround options.

The first option is Force Ring to Ascend. It helps to fix issue if the Ascending ring function does not work in your device. Normally HandyPhone cancels increase of a ringing level in case another application changes the ringing volume. If this option is enabled HandyPhone does not stop right after the first such a change. But if HandyPhone detects subsequent changes of ringing volume it stops.

The second option is High Priority. It makes the application to be as high priority process as possible. It is workaround if HandyPhone does not react or react with a delay on some of the events.

The release introduces the polish translation, thanks to Kamil Jarzembski. HandyPhone slowly becomes international.

There is bug on Android 2.3 platform that caused the HandyPhone service does not restart after system kills it. Due to this issue HandyPhone stops working after some time. The workaround has been developed in this version of the application.
